The main pin has two pin posts, the hand has one. The chain attaches to the pin posts on the back of the pins. The chain is detachable so you can display the pins however you like. The main pin is 2 inches (5 cm) long, the hand is a little under 1 in (2.5 cm). Each pin has gold plating and hard enamel.
